The Synopsis

Coppola made the crime film that all other crime films are still measured against. Brando gives the performance you've heard about. Pacino gives the one you haven't — watch how little Michael says in the first hour, and how much of the film's tragedy is already visible in what he doesn't say.
Power transfers quietly here. There's no single moment of corruption, just a long series of small acceptances. By the time the door closes on Kay, you understand exactly what she's married into, and so does she.
